Why We Don't Say "Modest" or "Sexy"
At Dainty Lace, every word we use is intentional. You might notice that we don’t use the words modest or sexy to describe our lingerie, even though many of our customers come to us looking for exactly that: modest lingerie that helps them feel sexy in a way that aligns with their values, comfort, and confidence.
So why the shift in language?
We believe lingerie should evoke emotion not pressure.
For some women, the word modest has felt restricting or associated with judgment. For others, sexy has been defined by standards that don’t feel authentic or attainable. But the feelings those words point to self-respect, confidence, beauty, and desirability. Those are absolutely worth embracing.
That’s why at Dainty Lace, we use words like high coverage and romantic instead.
"High coverage" doesn’t mean less beautiful—it means comfort, confidence, and the freedom to enjoy intimacy without feeling overexposed. "Romantic" reminds us that femininity can be soft, graceful, and meaningful. Together, they allow you to express your style and reconnect with yourself (and your partner) in a way that feels empowering and true to you.
So yes, our pieces are for the woman who wants to wear modest lingerie. And yes, they are designed to make you feel sexy, in your own way, on your own terms.
Because you deserve lingerie that honors your body, your values, and your story. 💕
